Explore the Benefits of LaseMD Laser
Resurfacing Treatment.
Our Lutronic LaseMD laser resurfacing treatment offers a non-ablative solution for enhancing your skin's appearance. Unlike more invasive laser therapies, LaseMD employs energy to create minuscule microchannels within the dermal layer. This controlled microdamage stimulates the body’s natural healing mechanisms, leading to accelerated cell renewal, and boosting the production of collagen and elastin. The end result is a noticeable improvement in
skin texture.
Additionally, the microchannels formed during the LaseMD procedure allow topical serums to be absorbed more effectively, amplifying their benefits. While facial treatments are most common, LaseMD is also frequently applied to the chest, neck, and hands. The most appealing aspect is that, since the surface layer of the skin remains intact, there is minimal downtime post-treatment!
ACNE SCAR mitigation with LASEMD Ultra
Lutronic LaseMD Ultra™ is a groundbreaking and sophisticated laser procedure designed to gently yet effectively resurface the upper layer of the skin, providing a solution for active acne and the red and brown marks left by previous breakouts. By promoting the regeneration of radiant and healthy skin, Ultra™ clarifying targets both the inflammation caused by acne and the pigmentation from old acne scars, ultimately enhancing the skin’s appearance and achieving a clearer complexion with minimal recovery time.
What to Expect.
Within the first 24 hours post-procedure, you may experience slight swelling, a mild heat sensation, and/or redness, which generally subsides within 1-2 days.
During the 2-7 days following the treatment, it is normal for red and brown spots to darken and for the skin to take on a lightly suntanned appearance. The skin may feel dry and have a sandpaper-like texture for the first 5-7 days. After about a week, your skin will become noticeably smoother.
While blistering is rare, it can occur. Should you develop any blisters, please contact our office immediately.
Visible improvements are typically noticeable within 1-2 weeks. The skin continues to improve up to a month after treatment, with further enhancements following subsequent treatments. For optimal results, most patients require 2-4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.

FAQ about LaseMD™
How do you prepare for your LaseMD™ Treatment?
Patients are encouraged to schedule their LaseMD™ procedure after avoiding sun exposure for at least 30 days and discontinuing topical retinoids five days prior. Arriving 30 minutes early for topical numbing is recommended to ensure comfort.
For those with a history of cold sores, taking antiviral medication before and after the treatment can help prevent outbreaks. This proactive step can enhance the overall experience and results.
What is LaseMD™?
LaseMD™ is a non-invasive, non-ablative, fractionated 1927 nanometer thulium fiber laser. This specific wavelength targets dark pigment while creating heated microchannels in the skin's superficial layers. Consequently, it enhances the skin’s tone and texture and effectively treats age spots and dark marks caused by sun damage and melasma. LaseMD™ is safe for all skin types and involves no significant downtime.
This innovative treatment can be applied to various areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands.
How Does LaseMD™ Work?
LaseMD™ works by targeting brown pigment and enhancing your skin’s tone and texture. It creates heated microchannels in the epidermis and papillary dermis, which tightens old collagen and stimulates the formation of new collagen. This process reduces fine lines and wrinkles, while also decreasing brown pigment from sun damage and melasma. The thulium fiber helps absorb the pigment, promoting a clearer complexion.
The microchannels are spaced out and placed superficially, allowing your skin to heal quickly with minimal downtime. This innovative approach ensures effective results with a swift recovery, making it a convenient option for improving your skin’s appearance.
What can you expect during the LaseMD™ treatment?
During the LaseMD™ treatment, you can expect a straightforward and manageable experience. After the topical numbing is removed and protective goggles are worn, the procedure begins. The laser creates a light, tolerable “pins and needles” sensation as it forms heat microchannels in the skin. This 30-minute treatment is tailored to your specific goals and target areas. Post-treatment, serums with brightening agents like vitamin C and tranexamic acid can also be applied to reduce brown pigment. Finally, sunscreen is applied to protect your skin.
What results may I expect from LaseMD™? How long should they last?
In the span of a few weeks, you'll observe your skin becoming more radiant, smoother, and clearer due to the light resurfacing, boosted collagen production, and reduction of brown pigmentation. The effects from a series of four treatments can endure for up to a year, provided you avoid significant sun exposure.
Is LaseMD™ painful?
No, LaseMD™ is a very manageable procedure. Your treatment includes applying topical numbing, which helps minimize any discomfort and makes the experience more comfortable for you.
What is the recovery and aftercare for LaseMD™?
Following the procedure, patients may notice slight redness, swelling, and peeling for up to 48 hours. Mineral-based makeup may be applied the same day to conceal these areas. Occasionally, there may be small spots resembling light coffee grounds as the darker pigment sheds. Regular moisturizing is suggested to lessen the peeling. This skin shedding may persist for up to a week. Patients should also steer clear of intense sun exposure for 3-4 weeks post-treatment.
How is LaseMD™ different from the other treatments offered?
LaseMD™ offers a quick recovery, minimal discomfort, and few side effects. It avoids the use of any skin injections. For those seeking complete relaxation of expression lines caused by muscle activity, treatments like Botox®, DYSPORT or other neuromodulators may be more suitable. Prior to scheduling any procedures, a cosmetic consultation is necessary to determine if LaseMD™ is the right option.
Who is a Good Candidate for LaseMD™ Work?
LaseMD™ is suitable for all skin types and is an excellent choice for those looking to reduce dark spots and fine wrinkles with minimal downtime. This treatment is designed to be both effective and convenient, making it accessible for a wide range of individuals.
However, LaseMD™ is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active skin infections like cold sores, are prone to scarring or keloids, or are currently taking Accutane/isotretinoin.
