More Than Weight Loss—A Healthier Future

Our goal isn't simply to help you lose weight—it's to help you improve your overall health, confidence, and quality of life. Whether you're beginning your weight loss journey, overcoming a plateau, or looking for long-term maintenance strategies, our experienced team will develop a personalized plan designed to help you achieve lasting success.

Obesity Is a Chronic Medical Condition—Not a Lack of Willpower

Obesity is a complex, chronic disease influenced by genetics, hormones, metabolism, medical conditions, medications, lifestyle, and many other factors. Successful weight management requires more than dieting alone—it requires an individualized, evidence-based approach focused on improving your long-term health.

Carrying excess weight can increase your risk for more than 20 serious health conditions, including:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • High cholesterol (dyslipidemia)
  • Heart disease and stroke
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
  • Osteoarthritis and joint pain
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Male hypogonadism (low testosterone)
  • Urinary stress incontinence
  • Asthma
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Infertility
  • Certain types of cancer

The encouraging news is that even modest weight loss can make a meaningful difference. Losing just 5–10% of your body weight has been shown to improve blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol levels, joint discomfort, sleep quality, and overall metabolic health for many individuals.

At Dr. Mantor's Wrinkle & Weight Solutions, you'll receive physician-supervised care from Dr. Gina Mantor, a Double Board-Certified physician in both Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine (ABOM).

Since 2008, Dr. Mantor has helped patients throughout Westerville, Columbus, and Central Ohio achieve healthier, more sustainable weight loss through personalized treatment plans designed around each patient's unique health history, goals, and lifestyle.

Whether you're just beginning your weight loss journey, have reached a plateau, or are focused on maintaining your success, we'll create a customized medical weight management program that fits your needs. Depending on your individual goals, your treatment plan may include physician-guided nutrition counseling, lifestyle coaching, advanced prescription therapies—including GLP-1 medications when appropriate—metabolic support, and long-term maintenance strategies designed to help you achieve lasting results.

  • Semaglutide (Wegovy)
  • Zepbound™ - (tirzepatide)
  • Liraglutide (Saxenda)

  • What is medical weight loss?

Medical weight loss is a physician-guided approach to losing weight that considers your health history, metabolism, lifestyle, medications, nutrition, body composition, and long-term goals. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all diet, your treatment plan is personalized to help you lose weight safely and maintain your results.

  • Do you offer GLP-1 medications for weight loss?

Yes. When medically appropriate, prescription weight-loss medications, including GLP-1–based therapies, may be incorporated into your treatment plan. Medication recommendations are based on your health history, goals, current medications, and individual need

  • Do I have to take a GLP-1 medication to participate in your weight loss program?

No. Weight management is not limited to GLP-1 medications. Your plan may include nutrition and lifestyle strategies, body composition monitoring, muscle-preserving treatments, medical evaluation, and other therapies depending on your individual needs.

  • How much weight can I expect to lose?

Weight loss varies considerably from person to person. Your starting weight, metabolism, medical history, medications, nutrition, activity level, and treatment plan can all influence your results. Our focus is on meaningful, sustainable progress rather than promising a specific number of pounds.

  • How do I know if I qualify for medical weight loss?

Eligibility is determined individually. Your provider will review your weight history, BMI, health conditions, medications, previous weight-loss attempts, and goals to determine which options may be appropriate for you.

  • Can medical weight loss help me lose belly fat?

Weight-loss treatment can reduce overall body fat, which may include abdominal fat. However, where your body loses fat first is largely determined by genetics, hormones, age, and body composition. For patients concerned about specific areas, body-contouring treatments may also be discussed.

  • Will I lose muscle while losing weight?

Muscle loss can occur during significant weight loss, which is why preserving lean muscle should be part of a comprehensive weight-management strategy. Adequate protein, resistance exercise, appropriate nutrition, and body-composition-focused treatments can all play a role in supporting muscle preservation.

  • Can EMSCULPT or EMSCULPT NEO be combined with medical weight loss?

Yes. For appropriate patients, EMSCULPT or EMSCULPT NEO may complement a medical weight-loss program by targeting muscle while also helping improve body contour. These treatments are not substitutes for weight loss, but they can be useful components of a broader body-composition strategy.

  • What happens when I reach my goal weight?

Reaching your goal isn't necessarily the end of treatment. Long-term weight maintenance may include continued medical monitoring, nutrition and activity strategies, adjustments to medication when appropriate, and a personalized maintenance plan designed to help reduce weight regain.

  • Will I regain the weight if I stop taking weight-loss medication?

Weight regain can occur after stopping weight-management medication, particularly without a maintenance strategy. That's one reason we focus on long-term weight management rather than treating medication as a temporary quick fix. Your provider can help determine an appropriate maintenance approach for you.

  • What are the side effects of GLP-1 weight-loss medications?

Side effects vary by medication and patient. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, constipation, diarrhea, decreased appetite, or stomach discomfort can occur. Your medical history and potential risks should be reviewed before treatment, and your provider can discuss what to expect from any medication being considered.

  • Is medical weight loss safe during menopause?

Weight management during perimenopause and menopause may require a more individualized approach because changes in hormones, sleep, muscle mass, metabolism, and body composition can affect weight. A medical evaluation can help determine which factors may be contributing and which treatment options are appropriate

  • Why is it harder to lose weight after 40 or 50?

Age-related changes in muscle mass, activity, sleep, hormones, insulin sensitivity, and energy needs can make weight management more challenging. Instead of simply recommending that you "eat less," a medical weight-management program can look at the bigger picture.

  • Is your weight loss program just about the number on the scale?

No. The scale is only one measurement. Improving body composition, maintaining muscle, reducing excess body fat, supporting metabolic health, and creating results you can realistically maintain are also important goals.

  • What makes Dr. Mantor's weight loss program different?

At Dr. Mantor's Wrinkle & Weight Solutions, weight management is physician-led and individualized. Dr. Gina Mantor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and treatment may incorporate medical weight management, prescription therapies when appropriate, nutrition and lifestyle strategies, muscle preservation, and body-contouring technologies—all based on your individual needs.

  • Do you offer medical weight loss near Columbus, Ohio?

Yes. Dr. Mantor's Wrinkle & Weight Solutions is located in Westerville and serves patients throughout Columbus and Central Ohio, including Worthington, New Albany, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, and surrounding communities.

  • How do I get started?

The first step is a consultation to discuss your weight history, health, goals, previous weight-loss efforts, and available treatment options. From there, we can develop a personalized plan designed around your needs and long-term goals.
