LaseMD Ultra™ for Acne Scar Treatment

Acne scars can remain long after breakouts have cleared, affecting both skin texture and confidence. At Wrinkle & Weight Solutions, we use the advanced LaseMD Ultra™ laser to help improve the appearance of acne scars while promoting healthier, smoother, more even-looking skin.

Unlike more aggressive resurfacing lasers, LaseMD Ultra™ delivers gentle, fractionated laser energy that stimulates your body's natural collagen production while encouraging healthy skin renewal. This treatment can help soften acne scars, improve uneven skin texture, reduce post-acne redness and discoloration, minimize enlarged pores, and restore a brighter, smoother complexion—all with little to no downtime for most patients.

Whether you're dealing with recent acne marks or scars that have been present for years, LaseMD Ultra™ offers a comfortable, physician-supervised solution that can be customized to your skin type and treatment goals.

What to Expect After Treatment

Following your LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, you may notice mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling similar to a light sunburn. These effects typically resolve within 24 to 48 hours.

Over the next several days, treated pigmentation and acne marks may temporarily darken as your skin begins its natural renewal process. Your skin may also feel slightly dry or have a fine, sandpaper-like texture for approximately 5 to 7 days. As healing progresses, fresh, healthier skin is revealed with noticeable improvements in texture and tone.

Many patients begin seeing visible improvement within one to two weeks, with collagen production continuing for several months after treatment. While blistering is uncommon, if it occurs, please contact our office promptly.

For the best improvement in acne scarring, we typically recommend a series of 2 to 4 treatments, scheduled approximately 4 weeks apart. Your provider will create a personalized treatment plan based on the severity of your scarring and your desired outcome.

Preparing for Your Treatment

To help maximize your results, we recommend:

  • Schedule your treatment at least one week before an important event.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning, or sunburns for at least two weeks before treatment and four weeks afterward.
  • Do not receive facials, chemical peels, waxing, threading, electrolysis, or other laser procedures for one week before treatment.
  • Stop using retinoids, retinol products, AHAs, BHAs, and other potentially irritating skincare products at least two days before treatment unless otherwise directed.
  • Use only a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and broad-spectrum sunscreen before and after your procedure.
  • Avoid picking, scratching, or exfoliating treated skin while it heals.
  • Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores or recurrent acne so preventive medication can be discussed if appropriate.

Maintaining Your Results

Healthy skin requires ongoing care. While your acne scars will continue improving after each treatment, many patients choose periodic maintenance treatments to support collagen production, improve skin quality, and help minimize future signs of aging and sun damage.

Schedule your complimentary consultation with our experienced medical team to learn whether LaseMD Ultra™ is the right treatment for your acne scars and discover a personalized plan to help you achieve clearer, smoother, healthier-looking skin.

LaseMD Ultra™ for Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that can cause persistent facial redness, visible blood vessels, flushing, inflammation, and sensitive skin. At Wrinkle & Weight Solutions, we offer LaseMD Ultra™ as an advanced laser treatment to help improve the appearance of rosacea while promoting healthier, calmer, more even-toned skin.

LaseMD Ultra™ uses gentle, fractionated laser technology to stimulate collagen production and encourage healthy skin renewal without the prolonged downtime associated with more aggressive resurfacing procedures. The treatment can help reduce facial redness, improve uneven skin tone, minimize visible blood vessels, smooth rough skin texture, and strengthen the skin's overall appearance. Many patients also notice healthier, more radiant skin following a series of treatments.

Because every patient experiences rosacea differently, our experienced medical team customizes each treatment plan based on your skin type, symptoms, and long-term skincare goals.

What to Expect After Treatment

Following your LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, you may experience mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling that feels similar to a mild sunburn. These effects generally improve within 24 to 48 hours.

Over the next several days, your skin may feel dry or slightly rough as healthy skin cells begin to regenerate. Mild flaking or a fine, sandpaper-like texture is common during the first 5 to 7 days. As your skin heals, redness gradually improves, skin texture becomes smoother, and your complexion appears brighter and more even.

Many patients begin noticing improvements within one to two weeks, while collagen remodeling continues over the following several months. Although blistering is uncommon, please contact our office immediately if you experience blistering or unexpected skin changes.

For the best results, we typically recommend a series of 3 to 5 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart, along with a personalized medical-grade skincare regimen to help support long-term skin health.

LaseMD Ultra™ for Sun Damage & Hyperpigmentation

highlighting treatment for sun damage, age spots, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and collagen renewal

Years of sun exposure can leave behind unwanted brown spots, uneven skin tone, rough texture, and early signs of aging. At Wrinkle & Weight Solutions, we use LaseMD Ultra™ to help reverse the visible effects of sun damage while revealing brighter, smoother, healthier-looking skin.

LaseMD Ultra™ is an advanced, non-ablative fractional laser that gently resurfaces the skin while stimulating your body's natural collagen production. This innovative treatment targets sun spots, age spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone by encouraging the skin to shed damaged cells and replace them with fresh, healthier skin. The result is a more even complexion, improved skin texture, refined pores, and skin that looks noticeably younger and more radiant—all with little to no downtime for most patients.

LaseMD Ultra™ is an excellent option for treating sun damage on the face, neck, chest, hands, and other sun-exposed areas, making it one of the most versatile laser skin rejuvenation treatments available.

What to Expect After Treatment

Following your LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, you may experience mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically improve within 24 to 48 hours.

Over the next several days, areas of sun damage and pigmentation may temporarily darken before naturally flaking away as healthier skin emerges. Your skin may also feel slightly dry or have a fine, sandpaper-like texture for approximately 5 to 7 days. As healing progresses, you'll notice brighter skin, improved clarity, smoother texture, and a more even skin tone.

Many patients begin seeing visible improvements within one to two weeks, while collagen production continues for several months after treatment, further improving skin quality and firmness.

For optimal correction of sun damage and pigmentation, we typically recommend a series of 3 to 5 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. Your provider will customize your treatment plan based on the severity of your sun damage and your skincare goals.

Preparing for Your Treatment

To achieve the best possible results, we recommend:

  • Schedule your treatment at least one week before an important event.
  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, self-tanners, and sunburns for at least two weeks before treatment and four weeks afterward.
  • Wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily before and after your procedure.
  • Avoid chemical peels, facials, waxing, threading, electrolysis, or other laser treatments for one week before your appointment.
  • Stop using retinoids, retinol products, AHAs, BHAs, and other potentially irritating skincare products at least two days before treatment unless instructed otherwise.
  • Use only a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen while your skin heals.
  • Avoid picking, rubbing, or exfoliating treated skin until healing is complete.
  • Inform your provider of any prescription skincare products or medications you are currently using.

Maintaining Your Results

Even after sun damage has improved, protecting your skin is essential. Daily sunscreen use, medical-grade skincare, and periodic LaseMD Ultra™ maintenance treatments can help preserve your results, stimulate ongoing collagen production, and minimize future sun damage and pigmentation.

Schedule your complimentary consultation with our experienced medical team to discover how LaseMD Ultra™ can help fade sun damage, restore a brighter complexion, and reveal healthier, more youthful-looking skin.

LaseMD Ultra™ for Fine Lines & Wrinkle Reduction

LaseMD Ultra banner highlighting treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, and texture

Fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process, but they don't have to define your appearance. At Wrinkle & Weight Solutions, we use LaseMD Ultra™ to help restore smoother, healthier, more youthful-looking skin by stimulating your body's natural collagen and elastin production.

LaseMD Ultra™ is an advanced, non-ablative fractional laser that gently resurfaces the skin while triggering the body's natural healing response. As new collagen forms, fine lines become softer, skin texture improves, and the complexion appears firmer, brighter, and more refreshed. The treatment is ideal for addressing early signs of aging on the face, neck, chest, and hands with little to no downtime for most patients.

Whether you're beginning to notice the first signs of aging or looking to maintain the results of other aesthetic treatments, LaseMD Ultra™ offers a comfortable, physician-supervised solution that can be customized to your individual skincare goals.

What to Expect After Treatment

Following your LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, you may experience mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically resolve within 24 to 48 hours.

As your skin renews itself over the following week, you may notice mild dryness, light flaking, or a fine, sandpaper-like texture. These are normal signs that healthy new skin is replacing damaged skin cells. Over the next several weeks, collagen production continues beneath the surface, helping to soften fine lines, improve skin firmness, refine pores, and create a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Many patients notice healthier, brighter skin within one to two weeks, with continued improvement over the next several months as collagen remodeling occurs.

For optimal wrinkle reduction and skin rejuvenation, we typically recommend a series of 3 to 5 treatments, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. Your provider will recommend a customized treatment plan based on your skin condition and aesthetic goals.

Preparing for Your Treatment

To achieve the best possible results, we recommend:

  • Schedule your treatment at least one week before an important event.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning, or sunburns for at least two weeks before treatment and four weeks afterward.
  • Avoid facials, chemical peels, waxing, threading, electrolysis, or other laser procedures for one week before your appointment.
  • Stop using retinoids, retinol products, AHAs, BHAs, and other potentially irritating skincare products at least two days before treatment unless instructed otherwise.
  • Use only a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and broad-spectrum sunscreen before and after your procedure.
  • Avoid rubbing, picking, or exfoliating treated skin while it heals.
  • Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores or use prescription skincare medications.
  • Maintaining Your Results

Collagen production naturally slows as we age, making ongoing skin maintenance an important part of preserving youthful skin. Periodic LaseMD Ultra™ treatments, combined with medical-grade skincare and daily sun protection, can help maintain smoother skin, improve elasticity, and reduce the appearance of future fine lines and wrinkles.

Reverse the Visible Signs of Sun Damage with LaseMD Ultra

Years of sun exposure can leave the skin looking uneven, dull, rough, or prematurely aged. Brown spots, freckles, mottled pigmentation, fine lines, and crepey texture often become more noticeable over time—especially on frequently exposed areas such as the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands.

At Dr. Mantor’s Wrinkle & Weight Solutions in Westerville, Ohio, we use LaseMD Ultra to help renew sun-damaged skin and restore a brighter, smoother, more even-looking complexion. Every treatment is customized according to your skin, the depth of your pigmentation, your desired results, and the amount of downtime that works for you.

How LaseMD Ultra Targets Sun-Damaged Skin

LaseMD Ultra uses gentle 1927 nm thulium laser energy to create microscopic treatment zones within the skin. This controlled process supports natural skin renewal and helps bring damaged, pigmented surface cells upward, where they can gradually darken, flake, and fade.

As the skin renews itself, patients may notice improved clarity, smoother texture, and a more even complexion. Because the treatment intensity is adjustable, LaseMD Ultra can be used for a lighter skin refresh or as part of a more corrective series.

What Types of Sun Damage Can LaseMD Ultra Improve?

LaseMD Ultra may help improve the appearance of:

  • Brown spots and age spots
  • Sun-induced freckles
  • Mottled or uneven pigmentation
  • Dull, tired-looking skin
  • Rough or uneven texture
  • Fine lines and early signs of aging
  • Crepey-looking skin
  • Uneven tone on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands

Results vary depending on the type and depth of the pigmentation. During your complimentary consultation, our physician-led team will determine whether LaseMD Ultra is appropriate for your specific concerns.

What Happens to Dark Spots After Treatment?

Pigmented spots may temporarily look darker or more noticeable following treatment. This is often part of the skin-renewal process as treated pigment moves toward the surface. The skin may also feel dry or slightly rough before it naturally flakes and reveals a clearer-looking complexion.

It is important not to pick, scrub, or aggressively exfoliate treated areas. We will provide personalized aftercare instructions to protect your skin as it heals.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Some patients notice brighter, fresher-looking skin after one session. More extensive sun damage or persistent dark spots may respond best to a customized series of LaseMD Ultra treatments followed by periodic maintenance.

Your treatment plan will depend on your pigmentation, treatment areas, skin history, seasonal sun exposure, and desired level of correction.

Protecting Your LaseMD Ultra Results

LaseMD Ultra can improve existing signs of sun damage, but it cannot prevent new pigmentation from forming. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, protective clothing, avoiding tanning beds, and using professionally selected skincare can help maintain your results. Our team can also recommend an at-home skincare plan designed to support clearer, healthier-looking skin between treatments.

Your Questions About LaseMD Ultra—Answered

Considering LaseMD Ultra for sun damage, dark spots, uneven skin tone, fine lines, or rough texture? Explore answers to the questions our patients ask most about treatment, comfort, recovery, results, and maintaining clearer, healthier-looking skin. At Dr. Mantor’s Wrinkle & Weight Solutions in Westerville, Ohio, our physician-led team personalizes every treatment according to your skin and goals. Complimentary consultations are available to patients throughout Columbus and Central Ohio.

  • What Is LaseMD™ Ultra?

LaseMD Ultra is a gentle, non-ablative laser treatment designed to refresh the skin without surgery or extensive downtime. It can improve sun damage, brown spots, uneven pigmentation, rough texture, fine lines, and overall skin quality. At Dr. Mantor’s Wrinkle & Weight Solutions in Westerville, we customize each treatment according to your skin concerns, lifestyle, and desired level of correction.

  • Can LaseMD Ultra Treat Sun Damage?

Yes. LaseMD Ultra is frequently chosen to improve visible signs of accumulated sun exposure, including uneven pigmentation, mottled tone, freckles, rough texture, and dullness. The laser encourages damaged surface cells to renew, gradually revealing clearer and more even-looking skin.

Treatment does not make the skin immune to future sun damage, so daily sunscreen remains essential.

  • How is LaseMD™ different from the other treatments offered?

LaseMD™ offers a quick recovery, minimal discomfort, and few side effects. It avoids the use of any skin injections. For those seeking complete relaxation of expression lines caused by muscle activity, treatments like Botox®, DYSPORT or other neuromodulators may be more suitable. Prior to scheduling any procedures, a cosmetic consultation is necessary to determine if LaseMD™ is the right option.

  • Is Fall or Winter the Best Time for Treating Sun Damage?

LaseMD Ultra can be performed throughout the year when patients can follow sun-protection guidelines. However, many patients in Westerville and Central Ohio prefer to begin corrective laser treatments during fall or winter, when outdoor ultraviolet exposure is often easier to limit.

Treatment timing should also consider vacations, outdoor sports, upcoming events, and any recent tanning.

  • Is LaseMD™ painful?

No, LaseMD™ is a very manageable procedure. Your treatment includes applying topical numbing, which helps minimize any discomfort and makes the experience more comfortable for you.

  • How Is LaseMD Ultra Different from Other Treatments You Offer?

LaseMD Ultra specifically uses laser energy to address pigmentation, sun damage, texture, and overall skin renewal. Other treatments at our Westerville medical spa work differently. For example, microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries, chemical peels use exfoliating solutions, and Exilis Ultra 360 uses radiofrequency and ultrasound energy for tightening and rejuvenation.

In some cases, treatments may complement one another. Our physician-led team will help you select an approach based on your skin, goals, schedule, and preferred amount of downtime.

  • How Does LaseMD Ultra Work?

LaseMD Ultra uses 1927 nm thulium laser energy to create microscopic treatment zones in the skin. This controlled process encourages the skin’s natural renewal response and helps replace damaged, uneven surface cells with healthier-looking skin. The treatment intensity can be adjusted, allowing our team to provide anything from a lighter refresh to a more corrective treatment plan.

  • What Skin Concerns Can LaseMD Ultra Improve?

    LaseMD Ultra may help improve:

    Sun damage and photodamage

    Brown spots and uneven pigmentation

    Freckles and age spots

    Dull or rough skin

    Uneven skin tone

    Fine lines

    Crepey-looking texture

    Mild acne-related discoloration

    Overall skin radiance and clarity

During your complimentary consultation at our Westerville medical spa, we will evaluate your skin and determine whether LaseMD Ultra is the best option for your concerns.

  • What can you expect during the LaseMD™ treatment?

During the LaseMD™ treatment, you can expect a straightforward and manageable experience. After the topical numbing is removed and protective goggles are worn, the procedure begins. The laser creates a light, tolerable “pins and needles” sensation as it forms heat microchannels in the skin. This 30-minute treatment is tailored to your specific goals and target areas. Post-treatment, serums with brightening agents like vitamin C and tranexamic acid can also be applied to reduce brown pigment. Finally, sunscreen is applied to protect your skin.

  • What results may I expect from LaseMD™? How long should they last?

In the span of a few weeks, you'll observe your skin becoming more radiant, smoother, and clearer due to the light resurfacing, boosted collagen production, and reduction of brown pigmentation. The effects from a series of four treatments can endure for up to a year, provided you avoid significant sun exposure.

  • What is the recovery and aftercare for LaseMD™?

Following the procedure, patients may notice slight redness, swelling, and peeling for up to 48 hours. Mineral-based makeup may be applied the same day to conceal these areas. Occasionally, there may be small spots resembling light coffee grounds as the darker pigment sheds. Regular moisturizing is suggested to lessen the peeling. This skin shedding may persist for up to a week. Patients should also steer clear of intense sun exposure for 3-4 weeks post-treatment.

  • Who is a Good Candidate for LaseMD™ Work?

LaseMD™ is suitable for all skin types and is an excellent choice for those looking to reduce dark spots and fine wrinkles with minimal downtime. This treatment is designed to be both effective and convenient, making it accessible for a wide range of individuals.

However, LaseMD™ is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active skin infections like cold sores, are prone to scarring or keloids, or are currently taking Accutane/isotretinoin.

  • Can LaseMD Ultra Be Combined with Medical-Grade Skincare?

Yes. Professionally selected skincare can support your LaseMD Ultra results and help address pigmentation, dryness, texture, and future sun damage. However, some active ingredients must be paused around treatment to reduce irritation.

Our team can develop a home regimen appropriate for your skin instead of simply recommending the strongest available products. Products should be introduced or resumed according to the instructions you receive after treatment.

  • Who Is a Good Candidate for LaseMD Ultra?

LaseMD Ultra may be appropriate for adults who want to improve sun damage, discoloration, dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, or rough texture without more aggressive resurfacing.

Treatment may need to be postponed or modified for individuals with an active infection, open wounds, irritated skin, a recent tan, or certain medical conditions or medications. A consultation is important because not every dark spot should automatically be treated with a cosmetic laser.

  • Can LaseMD Ultra Remove Dark Spots?

LaseMD Ultra may significantly soften many types of superficial brown pigmentation, but the degree of improvement varies. Some spots respond quickly, while deeper or more persistent pigmentation may require a series of treatments and supportive home skincare.

We recommend having dark spots evaluated before treatment. Spots that are changing, irregular, bleeding, crusting, or otherwise suspicious should receive appropriate medical evaluation rather than being treated solely as cosmetic pigmentation.

  • Will Brown Spots Become Darker After Treatment?

They can. Brown spots and areas of sun damage may temporarily look darker or more noticeable following LaseMD Ultra. This can be a normal part of the renewal process as treated pigment moves toward the surface and gradually flakes or fades.

Do not scrub or pick at these areas. Allow the skin to shed naturally and follow the aftercare instructions provided by our team.

  • Does LaseMD Ultra Treat Age Spots and Freckles?

LaseMD Ultra may help lighten age spots, sun-induced freckles, and areas of uneven pigmentation. Results depend on the type, depth, and cause of the pigment. Some freckles can return or new ones can develop with continued sun exposure, which is why ongoing sun protection is an important part of your treatment plan.

  • Can LaseMD Ultra Treat Sun Damage on the Chest and Hands?

Yes. Although the face is a popular treatment area, LaseMD Ultra may also be used on areas such as the neck, décolleté, chest, arms, or hands when appropriate. These areas often reveal years of sun exposure through brown spots, uneven tone, and crepey-looking texture.

Because the skin heals differently in different areas, settings and aftercare must be customized carefully.

  • Can LaseMD Ultra Treat Melasma?

LaseMD Ultra may be considered for some patients with melasma, but melasma is a complex condition that can be influenced by hormones, heat, sunlight, and inflammation. Aggressive treatment can sometimes aggravate pigment rather than improve it.

Our team will evaluate your pigmentation and may recommend a carefully controlled laser plan, daily sun protection, pigment-balancing skincare, or another treatment approach. Maintenance is typically necessary because melasma can recur.

  • Can I Have LaseMD Ultra If I Have a Tan?

Laser treatment generally should not be performed over recently tanned or sunburned skin. A tan indicates increased pigment activity and may affect how the skin responds to laser energy. Tell us about recent sun exposure, tanning beds, self-tanning products, or an upcoming sunny vacation so we can schedule your treatment safely.

  • Will LaseMD Ultra Permanently Remove Sun Damage?

LaseMD Ultra can improve existing visible sun damage, but no treatment can permanently prevent new pigmentation. Unprotected ultraviolet exposure can cause treated spots to return and new spots to form.

For longer-lasting improvement, we recommend broad-spectrum sunscreen, sun-protective clothing, avoiding tanning beds, and maintenance treatments when appropriate.
