What is Kybella?

Kybella is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called a "double chin." What to Expect!

  • How does it work?

    It uses deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance that the body uses to breakdown and absorb dietary fat. Once injected, it causes fat cell destruction, so fat cells can no longer store and accumulate fat.

  • How is it done?

    It typically takes 2-3 sessions, sometimes more. Each session is 15-20 minutes in the office that consist of a series of small injections in the area being treated under the chin.

  • Most common side effects?

    Include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and hardness in the area being treated.
